Kitchen Tips
1. Put a pinch of salt in the water when hard boiling eggs to make them easier to peel..
2. Freeze a head of cabbage, then it will be ready to use for cabbage rolls. There is no need to boil the leaves.
3. Tip: Look for avocados that are firm, but yield to gentle pressure. If they are not quite ripe, place avocados in a paper bag, and let ripen at room temperature.
4. How-to for skinning tomatoes.
Drop tomatoes into a pan of boiling water for 20-30 seconds. Remove tomatoes from the water with a slotted spoon and plunge into a bowl of cold water. Nick the skin with the tip of a knife, it should peel off easily.
